“And I Know” was written with as part of a group of song during the 2020 COVID shutdown.  We had been intending to go to Hawaii, and were at home instead for most of the month, as my vacation time had been blocked out months before.  A song about the disappointment of missing a reunion with a loved one seemed a natural extension of all we were feeling at that time.

It was another attempt since “The Healthcare CEO Blues” (also from the same song cycle) to write for big band, which I hadn't done since college.  It would be so much fun someday to perform the song with a real band.
